| Why National Gas BMCG ? |
A revolution in the world of cutting, welding and brazing |
National Gas Company provides a new solution in metal cutting. Traditionally, cutting of metal/sheets has always been done using the Oxy-Acetylene mixture. Acetylene is expensive and not easily available. Bharat Petroleum painstakingly studied the needs of industries which need to cut metal and came up with Bharat Metal Cutting Gas (BMCG) as the ideal substitute for Acetylene. Bharat Metal Cutting Gas offers superior cutting at a low cost. Launched by Bharat Petroleum Corp. for the first time in India, Bharat metal cutting Gas can cut metal easily which makes it ideal for metal cutting and brazing applications. |

National Gas has launched BMCG in Sultanate of Oman and successfully tried at giants like Al Jazeera Steels, Sharq Sohar Steel, L&T MFY, STS, Bilad Oman, Oman Steel, Gulf Structures, Arabian Industries, Mudhaher Est and many more in Muscat, Sohar and Nizwa Industrial Estate.
BMCG has been developed by Bharat Petroleum Corp(www.bharatpetroleum.com) also been accredited by leading agencies like Welding Research Institute ( WRI) Trichy, Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) Lucknow and Naval materials Research laboratory, Ambernath. |
Economy like never before |
BMCG offers unmatched economy. BMCG is 30 to 40% cheaper on overall cutting cost. |
The safest metal cutting gas |
In industries where safety of employees is placed above all else, Bharat Metal Cutting Gas is the ideal choice. BMCG is completely safe and operator-friendly. |
BMCG is non-toxic and has no backfire. In case of a leak, BMCG can be detected easily because its unique pungent smell. |
Explosive limits (flammability)
% in oxygen |
- BMCG 2.4 - 57
- Acetylene 3.0 - 93
% on air |
- BMCG 2.3 - 9.5
- Acetylene 2.5 - 80
Risk of flash ignition in BMCG is much lower than acetylene. |
Normal pressure of cylinder |
- BMCG 6-7 kg/CM 2
- Acetylene 17-18 kg/CM2
Manual cutting |
Why Bharat metal cutting Gas is preferred over Acet |
- Superior cutting at low cost .
- Reduces cylinder inventory by three times as compared to acetylene.
- Low slag formation.
- Low back-fire tendency.
- Has a lower explosive limit in air and oxygen than acetylene. Hence, has lower band of inflammability than acetylene.
- The cylinder pressure of BMCG is 6-7 kg/CM 2 while the cylinder pressure of acetylene is 17-18 kg/CM 2.
- BMCG cylinders are easier to handle because they are lighter than acetylene cylinders.
- BMCG can easily cut 12 inch thick metal.
BMCG key features |
- Achieves flame temp, around 3000 degree C closer to Acetylene
- High penetration and good cutting speed.
- Very effective for cutting metals of higher thickness
- Smooth cutting surface and reduction in slag formation
- Clean, narrow Kerfs
- No possibility of backfire or flashback
- Lesser handling cost per cylinder and less necessity for changing of apparatus.
- No sooty flame.
- Very low switch over cost from Acetylene to BMCG
